Last week the Smith family set out on a camping trip! We went with my family and camped by the lake. Me and Will had bought a tent 3 years ago and used it once. We knew then it was way too big for us, but we had hopes of using it when we had kids. I just don't think we realized how soon we would be filling it up! Will spent all day Wednesday setting everything up, with Taylor's help of course! Then me and Liam joined them later in the day. We had a lot of fun just relaxing by the lake and swimming. Taylor absolutely loved the lake and would have spent all day out there if we would have let her. She is learning to really love the water. I spent my time in the water on a float trying to get a tan...it didn't work, but it was very relaxing. Will fished a lot and had a lot of fun. We got rained on Friday evening and everything got wet so we decided not to stay Friday night. We were glad to be home and back in our beds. Taylor had a great time and even Liam seemed to enjoy being outside so much! We had to scrub Taylor big time when we got home though. She played in the sand and in the mud and looked like a little homeless girl by the time she had played in the rain Friday night. We really enjoy camping. It is kind of a tradition for my family to go camping during the 4th of July, so I am glad we have been able to include Taylor and Liam in that tradition now.
