What a Beautiful Morning!

On Saturday we had absolutely nothing to do and no where to go...it was a nice change of pace from the week we had just got finished with. (we had 5 ballgames between the 2 of us, Will umped 4 games during the week, I met with a college friend on Wednesday morning, church Wednesday evening, I took Lila to the doctor Friday morning, and we had a church party Friday evening! It was all very fun but exhausting!)
So anyways...Will decided it would be fun to take the kids to the park Saturday morning and feed the ducks. We had a lot of bread that was going bad and left over hotdog buns from the 4th that were bad. So we loaded up the kids and the bread and headed to Roane County Park. It was an absolutely gorgeous morning. The sun was out but it wasn't hot. When we got out of the van and got the kids the geese immediately headed toward us! Taylor and Liam proceeded to start screaming and grabbing at our legs. They didn't know what to think of these creatures coming at them! I had the video camera out for about 30 seconds until I realized all I was going to get was screaming if we didn't pick them up and "save them" from the geese! As many of you know...my children are deathly afraid of all animals. They don't mind looking at them from far off...but if one of them comes near them...watch out!
So anyways...me and Will started out feeding the geese and the occasional duck and within about 5 minutes Taylor thought it would be fun to throw bread too. So she really got into then. She didn't understand the concept of throwing little pieces though. One time she threw half a hot dog bun at a duck...but he didn't seem to mind! Liam even started throwing little pieces by the end. He thought it was a lot of fun. We walked down to the water to feed a few ducks that were in the water and then ran out of bread. Taylor was very dissapointed not to have anymore bread. But we assured her that we would come back sometime and feed them again.
Then we had to go to the swings because my children LOVE to swing. They don't like slides or other playground equipment...they just want to swing. So we put them in the swings and they stayed there for about 20 minutes. Just a swingin!
It was the most wonderful Saturday morning I have had in a while. And I am very thankful to Will for coming up with the idea. We stopped by the grocery store on the way home and got some hamburgers and brats to fix for lunch. They were very delicious! After a great meal the kids took a nap and we started cleaning the house! Because even though I hate to admit it...the house didn't look like that all week Nonnie and Poppy! Just don't think about what it really did look like!
Enjoy the pictures!

Liam did not like those geese!

Taylor finally deciding to feed them

Even Liam decided it looked like fun

So happy to just swing!

She thought this was so fun!

I love that little face!

My 2 favorite guys!

What cute pictures! It probably was intimidating to the kids to have the ducks coming toward them. Maybe the next time they will like the ducks and geese better. You must have worked really fast during their nap because the house looked about normal when we got there. All evidence of any parties was gone.
