The Saturday after Thanksgiving we had the opportunity to go to a UT game for free...and we were pretty excited about it. We (I) really didn't think the kids were old enough to go to a game yet, but since the tickets were free, we figured we would try it out and see how they did.
My dad, brother, and sister are all ushers at the UT football games and they were able to get us all in for free. I was not aware until the night before the game that we would be taking Kimberly's kids with us to the game, but Nonnie was with us, so it was all good. This is all of them on the way up to the game. Logan rode with Tim, Poppy, and Kimberly. It was a loud ride up there full of arguing and yelling. Very nice...
We didn't want to park all the way over where Poppy usually parks (on the other side of the interstate) so we paid to park and parked near Children's Hospital. This was a big mistake that we would pay for after the game, but at the time it seemed like the best thing! It was a long walk for all these little ones and for all of us who were having to carry them! Once we made it to where the band would be coming down we stopped and rested and waited. They were all excited to see the band.

Cheerleaders! I didn't get a picture of it, but Smokey the mascot was walking after the cheerleaders and he slapped Liam's hand. He was pretty excited about that!

Love the renovations that they have done to the stadium. It all looks really good.

So excited to be at the game!
Although our seats were free, and we shouldn't complain, we were 3 rows from the very very top of the stadium! We had to walk up all those stairs with 5 kids (we had picked up Logan at this point). They were all tired and my legs were burning and my arms were about to fall off from carrying Liam the whole way! But after we got up there it was nice because the sun was on our backs and the wind wasn't really blowing too much.
Our view was pretty good and we could see everything. We could even see the JumboTron so that was nice. Seeing the team run through the T will never get old!
It was hard to get the kids to understand that they couldn't run around up there though. I could just see one of them tumbling down the bleachers and rolling over the side of the upper deck. So we tried to keep them all seated and sitting. It was not an easy task! Especially when Nonnie and Will went to get us all food and left me there with all the kids! But they wouldn't have been able to carry all the food back if they had to take the kids. People looked at me a lot because I was yelling at all these kids and trying to control them and keep them in their seats. I sure hope they didn't think they all belonged to me! It actually wouldn't have been as bad if the people in front of us would have just sat down so that all the kids could see. They stood up even when standing up wasn't necessary! And I could only hold so many kids up at one time!
The kids all had a great time though, so it was worth it. They started getting really antsy around the start of the 4th quarter. Liam had fallen asleep for about 30 minutes and when he woke up we all gathered all our stuff up and headed down to where Poppy, Kimberly, and Tim were. I am sure we were a sight all coming down those steps with all the kids trying not to fall. And Liam was riding on Liam's shoulders. I am not sure how we didn't tumble down!

And the best thing...we won the game! It is always nice to go to a game that we win!

It was just hard to keep up with all the kids and worry about them falling down and keeping them occupied and not bored. But it was a great experience for them and I am glad they got to go to their first game.
